Since 2020 I have been making custom fishing poles for myself, friends and family. I continually lie to myself thinking that this really saves any money. However, you can produce extremely nice rods with a little time and get exactly what you want. Its a similar feeling to cooking a delicious dinner, the satisfaction you get from using something you made yourself is very gratifying. 

Moving to North Carolina has reinvigorated my love for fishing. While bass fishing in southern California can produce some lunks the lakes are extremely over pressured and for whatever reason it was hard to find time to go fishing.  The spring of 2020 I bought a used Hobie pro angler, and I absolutely love it. Here I will talk about some the nearby lakes I've fished, what has worked for me, modifications I've done to the Pro Angler, and share some pictures.
